A private hour for heavy days

A soft place to set it down.

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a weight to be carried, and some hours are heavier than others. The Harmonic Egg® is a quiet, no-touch chamber where you can put it down for fifty minutes - alongside the people already helping you carry it.

The Short Answer

Is a Harmonic Egg® session grief therapy?

No. The Harmonic Egg® is a complementary relaxation experience, not grief counseling or therapy. Guests carrying loss, anticipatory grief, or caregiver exhaustion use their 50-minute session at Harmonic Egg Saco (110 Main St, Suite 1210, Saco, Maine) as a private, no-touch hour of rest - alongside the work of a therapist, counselor, or physician, never in place of it. Sessions are $100 (first visit $125 with intake); remote sessions are $80.

Why guests come during grief

Nothing to explain

You are alone in the chamber. No one asks how you are or what happened.

No touch, no talk required

Just soft light, color, and sound in a private wooden chamber.

A safe container for tears

The door closes. What arrives is allowed to arrive.

Rest for caregivers

Anticipatory grief and long caregiving seasons are their own weight.

Anniversaries & hard weeks

Some guests book around the date they know will be hard.

Alongside therapy

Used with, not instead of, the counselor or physician you already trust.

What a session looks like

  1. 01

    A gentle intake.

A few minutes with Judy or Bill so the light and sound are chosen for you. You do not have to talk about your loss.

  2. 02

    Fifty minutes in the chamber.

The door closes. 40 minutes of sound, light, and color, then 10 minutes of stillness. No one is in the room.

  3. 03

    A soft landing.

A restoring electrolyte drink and quiet. Practitioners suggest treating the five to seven days after a session as quiet integration time.

Questions & Answers

Questions about grief sessions.
Can the Harmonic Egg help with grief?+
The Harmonic Egg® is a private, no-touch chamber where many guests come to rest during heavy chapters - a loss, a caregiving season, an anniversary. It is a complementary relaxation experience, not grief therapy, and it is used alongside the care a therapist, counselor, or physician provides.
Is this grief counseling?+
No. We are not licensed grief counselors and this is not therapy. Guests use their 50 minutes here as a soft, quiet container to feel what they feel - and then continue the work of grieving with the people qualified to walk it with them.
Do I have to talk about my loss?+
Never. There is a short intake to tune the light and sound, and then the door closes. No one is in the chamber with you. Nothing to explain, nothing to perform.
Is it okay to cry inside the Egg?+
Yes. Tears, stillness, sleep, sighs - all welcome. The chamber is designed to hold whatever arrives without asking anything of you.
How is this different from a float tank?+
The Egg uses no water - just sound, light, and color in a dry, seated recline. Because there is no water involved, nothing can be stored or dispersed between guests; the space is simply quiet and private.
How soon after a loss can I book?+
Whenever it feels right. Some guests come the week of a service to steady themselves; others wait months. There is no correct timeline.
What if I fall apart during the session?+
You are alone inside the chamber and you will not be interrupted. Judy or Bill will meet you gently on the other side of the door with a restoring drink and quiet. That is enough.
Can caregivers of the dying book too?+
Yes - and many do. Anticipatory grief and caregiver exhaustion are heavy loads. A private hour of rest is part of that work.
How many sessions do grieving guests typically book?+
It varies. Some come once for a bad week; others build a rhythm with a 3, 6, or 9-session package because rest lands easier when it is already on the calendar.
Is it safe if I am on medication for depression or anxiety?+
Session involves no medication, no touch, and no physical exertion. If you have a mental-health care team, please loop them in - a complementary relaxation practice is a decision to make with them, not around them.
Can I do a remote grief session from home?+
Yes. Remote Harmonic Egg® sessions are $80. The full 50-minute session runs in the chamber in Saco in the tradition of distance-healing practice while you rest at home.
How much does an in-studio session cost?+
Single sessions are $100 ($125 first visit with intake). Packages are $270 for 3, $510 for 6, and $720 for 9. Remote sessions are $80.

Come rest for an hour.

Book in studio or from home. You do not have to explain anything.
